I create art to share my vision of the world with you, the viewer. This mission includes creating compelling artwork that allows you to experience nature through my eyes. I want you to be moved by what you see. I do this by using classic artist’s tools such as, color, lighting, texture, composition, and imagination. My goal is to produce artwork and photography that captures the spirit and the art of wildlife and nature.
I’m humbled by the experience of coming face to face with wild animals and being able to share them with you. All creatures have dignity and a spirit that I try to capture in my images. Imagine looking straight in their eyes and feeling an eternal connection with them. This connection is both mysterious and mystical and has existed since the beginning of time. I want to capture these moments forever. Art struggles to capture all that is occurring in these moments. Sometimes, I exaggerate the experience to try to capture the emotions around the event. It is challenging to capture a four dimensional moment on a two dimensional canvas.
There are many opportunities to express the natural landscape. How do you capture the timeless beauty of a sunrise or nightfall? We’ve all experienced these fleeting moments that connect us with something larger. My work is meant to remind you of your connections to others and nature. The images allow you to enjoy the rich colors and ever changing compositions of our world.
Creating mix media artwork that combines digital technology combined with traditional art media to shift your perceptions of what is possible through modern art and expression. Combining the best of current digital technology with the materials and craftsmanship of earlier generations of fine artists. I use both computer and canvas to create individual works of art that capture the emotion and energy of this time in history.
Currently, I’m involved in producing more mixed media pieces that highlight my travels to different parts of the world. I have several projects to convert earlier sketches and photos into larger mix media paintings to be featured in galleries regionally over the next several months. I’m developing a series of paintings that feature the big cats and exploring how to provide several non-profits with ways of connecting with their constituencies through art.
